New Gutters

New Gutters Have Arrived

Colonial Stairs-2
The Colonial is replacing gutters on all buildings and downspouts as needed. The charcoal color works well with our new color scheme and continues to improve the overall look, but more importantly we know the performance of the gutters will greatly improve.

Colonial Stairs-3The clogging and overflowing gutters problems should be a thing of the past. We will install directors in some of the metal valleys which we will have tweaked as we have future rainfalls. Clean out traps will be installed in the building closest to the forest to alleviate the clogging of the gutters and downspouts. We are excited to see the job completed!

Retirement of Donna Klein from Council

The Colonial Strata Council has accepted the resignation of Donna Klein after serving 8 years on our Strata Council as an Officer. Donna has been not only a great asset to our Council but to the Community overall. Donna has worked tirelessly to improve The Colonial, but also does many volunteers hours within the City of Maple Ridge.

Donna was not only a Council member, but she was a great friend to many and her thoughtfulness for others was first and foremost and was always much appreciated. Donna will be sorrily missed at our Council table and the Patio ladies as well, but we wish her all the best on her new endeavors and we hope she visits often here at The Colonial.

The Colonial AGM for April 29th 2015

Was well attended with 48 Owners represented in person and by proxy. Going forward the addition of new gutters, downspouts, valley diverters and clean out traps should really improve the overall performance. We expect a great result once installed.
The Strata Council is mindful of being prudent and fiscally responsible as we save towards larger projects in the future and being prepared for those unexpected surprises that could arise. Overall The Colonial has made some significant repairs and replacements over the last five years and we hope to continue on that path. Thank you to all The Colonial Owners who continue to do their part in keeping our community looking good and staying green.

Spring Cleaning is Complete

Dominion Power Washing has completed another successful Spring Cleaning project here at The Colonial. The spinning washers that are used on the sidewalks, visitor parking walls and common patio areas around the clubhouse, do a fantastic job making these areas look like new. The vinyl was cleaned throughout the complex, along with the recycling sheds and bike shed as well. Most Owners have cleaned their patios and railings themselves or hired to have the work completed and it really shows the pride in ownership here at The Colonial. Now to enjoy our Summer Season!

The Colonial Front Entrance

The front brick planter gardens are getting a well deserved face lift by having the brick work re-pointed, an acid wash and seal applied will have our front garden looking beautiful and inviting once again.

Thank you to Mr. Erik Nielsen in repairing the spotlight that was hidden which will illuminate the new Colonial sign that Mr. Nielsen has repainted. In May the landscapers will add more topsoil and some flowering shrubs that will really enhance the brick work giving The Colonial great curb appeal!
